GOVERNMENT RECOMMENDS FLIGHTS FOR STUDENTS TO GO ABROAD

The Tourism Office said that through discussions with the travel industry and airlines, it plans to increase flights to Europe and America via Taipei or Seoul in late August or early September, to allow students to go abroad to resume their studies.

There are no plans to open a new “special channel” between Macau and Hong Kong International Airport.

All Macau residents who intend to travel abroad via Hong Kong International Airport will be required to undergo a 14 days quarantine imposed by the neighboring Government.

A level 2 alert has been issued by the Macau Government for all countries and destinations abroad.

However, due to the new school year will start in a month, the government today announced plans to increase flights to Europe and America via Taipei or Seoul in late August or early September.

«We are all concerned that some students need to continue their studies abroad after the summer holiday. After discussions with the travel industry and airlines, some airlines plan to increase flights to Europe via Taipei or Seoul at the end of August or early September. Students and parents can check with travel agencies for details.»

According to the authorities, students may travel to North America via Taiwan and may travel to Europe via Seoul.

There will be 3 weekly flights in August and 2 daily flights in September flying from Macau to Taiwan.

And there will be flights provided on every Saturday traveling to Seoul.

 

TO NORTH AMERICA:

1- 3 weekly flights during August :
    Macau > Taiwan, Every Monday, Friday, and Sunday at 13:15, Eva Air

2- 2 daily flights during September :
     Macau > Taiwan, At 13:15 and 20:20 every day, Eva Air

3- Transit Flight:
     Taipei > Toronto, Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 19:40, Eva Air

4- Transit Flight:
    Taipei > Vancouver, Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 22:00, Eva Air

5- Daily Transit Flight in September:
    Taipei > Los Angeles, At 19:20 every day, Eva Air

(*Only possible to make a “transfer” for a maximum period of 8 hours in Taiwan)

 

TO EUROPE:

Macau to Seoul, Every Saturday, May transfer to the main European capitals

(being allowed to stay for a maximum of 24 hours inside the airport)

 

The authorities also remind the residents to plan and decide according to the current pandemic situation by assessing possible risks.

And the government stated today it cannot assure that the plan would remain unchanged as entry or transfer restrictions may be implemented or changed in other countries or destinations.
