MGTO PLANS PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES IN CHINA

The tourism bureau plans to organize more promotional activities in Mainland cities ahead of the National Day holidays.  The bureau also plans to add a new cruise route.

According to the Director of the Macau Government Tourism Office, since the Individual Visit Scheme resumed in September last year, the bureau has been proactively looking into attracting visitors from Mainland China.

Helena de Senna Fernandes said one of the latest examples of that strategy was the Macau Week that took place in Hangzhou, which had a large online audience.

The bureau aims to launch the Macau Week event in various Mainland cities before the National Day holidays.

Meanwhile, and to add touristic elements to Macau, the bureau plans to add the Barra provisional pier sailing route to the Macau Ready Go scheme during the summer.

HELENA DE SENNA FERNANDES - MGTO Director

«We hope the Macau Ready Go project will include the Barra temporary harbour as one of the tours available during the summer holidays. Since large boats cannot be anchored in the Barra Temporary Harbor, small boats have to be used.  However, I believe it will be a good experience, covering World Heritage sites.»
