GOVERNMENT SAYS THAT SUPPLY OF ESSENTIAL GOODS IS ASSURED

Don't overbuy or rush to buy because there are enough supplies.

This was the recommendation left by the authorities to the population after announcing the Immediate Prevention State on Saturday (September 25) at midnight.

The Government urges consumers to moderate their purchases and to supermarkets limit the purchase of essential goods.

In a statement, issued on Saturday (September 25) afternoon, the Consumer Council and the Economic and Technological Development Services Bureau (DSEDT) guarantee that they are vigilant against phenomena such as the indiscriminate rise in prices as well as hoarding of essential goods.

Along these lines, the authorities have already made contact with suppliers and retailers in a total of 264 establishments from 16 groups of supermarkets and department stores.

They ask that "temporary measures restricting the acquisition of all essential goods and, at the same time, taking into account the situation of sale and demand, proceed, as soon as possible, with the replenishment and replacement of these goods".

The authorities reiterated that the stock of essential goods in Macau is sufficient and that the supply of goods has been regular.
